Positivity Project in Action
Our second graders recently wrote persuasive paragraphs.  In an effort to show what they have learned through the Positivity Project, students decided to put their creativity into action and write persuasively to Paul Valenti, the owner of Glazed and Confused.  Students tried to persuade Mr. Valenti to create a donut that represents positivity, and that we be the recipients of such a treat!  Well, it worked!  Mr. Valenti was impressed by our students' writing and creativity, so he captured the students' requests in donut form and donated the treats. Positively sweet!

Three Special Events in Three Days!

On Thursday, March 14, we hosted our annual Science Fair featuring experiments and displays from 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students.  Our scientists were required to propose a hypothesis, test it, then record and display their results.  Outstanding effort went into the demonstrations, so thank you to our students and parent volunteers for making it an eventful evening.

On Friday, March 15, our school was treated to a performance of Irish Dancing from Francis Academy.

Monday evening, March 18, several of our fifth grade band members participated in an All Star Music Performance at Camillus Middle School.  Students from across the district were invited to rehearse together for the past eight weeks and then showcased their skills at last night's performance.

Kindergarten Registration for the 2019-2020 school year continues throughout the month of March at the Central Registrar Office located at 300 Sanderson Drive, Camillus.  Be sure to make an appointment to register by calling the Central Registrar at (315) 487-4683.   Students registered for next school year's Kindergarten will soon be invited to a "Get Ready for Kindergarten" program at Onondaga Road, so stay tuned for information!

New York State ELA testing will take place on Tuesday, April 2 and Wednesday, April 3.  All students in grades 3, 4, 5 will participate in computer-based ELA assessments.  Our students are prepared, and we are excited to see the outcome!  Parents, be on the lookout for an informational letter regarding the assessments from our Superintendent, Mike Schiedo.
