Greetings from Onondaga Road!

 Flag Day

Monday, June 14 is Flag Day!  Don’t forget to wear your red, white and blue!  We celebrate Flag Day on June 14 because that commemorates the adoption of the first flag of the United States in 1777!  While our annual school festivities have changed a bit for this year, we are lucky to have some high school friends come to our school and play patriotic music for us while our students “parade” around the building.  Thanks to our PTA for providing red, white and blue popsicles on that day!

Jump Rope Club
Our fourth graders had so much fun learning stunts and cooperating with classmates during their Jump Rope Club.  Students met in the morning before school hours to practice, and then each class performed a show which was recorded and played for their parents and all of our classes.  We have a lot of talented jumpers!

Reminders for the Next Few Weeks

  • Flag Day is Monday, 6/14.  Wear red, white and blue!

  • Friday, 6/18, 4th graders will have their own little picnic to celebrate the end of the year as they head toward West Genesee Middle School in the fall.

  • In-school students will have an abbreviated Olympics day on Monday, 6/21.  Weather permitting, they will be outdoors for some fun, so you may want to put sunscreen on your child that morning.

  • Wednesday, 6/23 and Thursday, 6/24 are half-days for students with dismissal at 11:20 for buses and 11:30 for students being picked up.  Plan ahead for daycare if needed.

  • Thursday, 6/24 is our last day of school.

  • Remote families return Chromebooks, chargers, and students’ readers to school either Thursday afternoon, 6/24 from 12:30-3:00, or Friday, 6/25 from 8:30-3:00.

  • Report cards become available online on Friday, 6/25.

Look Who Came to Visit!

These two beautiful creatures greeted our buses as they pulled into the parking lot last week!  What a sight to see as they danced around that tree!

Enjoy these sunny days.
Sincerely, Jeannette Clark
