Greetings from Onondaga Road!

 Green Day for MDA

We are getting closer to our special day!  Green Day for MDA is on Wednesday, March 17, and we are looking forward to showing our support for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.  Students are welcome, though not required, to bring a monetary donation.  Please remember that our students will be taking a lap around the bus loop as our way of showing our support to our community.  Traffic will be blocked from entering our school bus loop from 9:45 a.m. through 1:15 p.m.  The entrance and exit to the bus loop will be blocked with cones in an effort to keep our children safe while they wear their green and lap the loop.  If you have to pick your child up during that time, please park on Kent Place (parking lot side of school) and walk around to the main entrance.  Thank you for your support!

West Genesee Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Council
As you may have read in the Superintendent’s message from February 26, there is an opportunity for everyone in our community to come together as members of the West Genesee Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Council.  In order to advance our mission and have all members of our community achieve success, we recognize that we need to listen to the voices, experiences, and perspectives of people from diverse backgrounds. This Council is open to all members of our community, and we encourage and welcome your participation. Please read and fill out this Google Form, and then a member of our team will contact you directly.

Packet Pick-Up for Remote Students
Thursday, March 18, at 3:00-4:00 p.m. is our next remote student packet pick-up date.  All remote Onondaga Road families will need to pick up their children’s materials at that time, and please return materials you have finished using.  Here is a list of materials that you will need to return:

#PositivityInAction
Next week we will gain a better understanding of people who have a love of learning.  Those who have this as a character strength like to master new topics on their own and (or!) in school.  They are intrinsically motivated and engaged learners!

Be a Yearbook Donor!
If you have not yet ordered a school yearbook, there is still time!  You can either send a paper order form to school with a check made payable to Onondaga Road PTA by March 26, or you can place an online order using this link and the code 11989221.

Here’s another idea!  Maybe you would like to make a donation to purchase a yearbook for a child who may not otherwise be able to get one at this time.  If you would like to be an anonymous yearbook donor for an Onondaga Road student, simply place any cash or check donation in an envelope and send it to our main office before March 26.  Any contributions we receive will be combined to purchase as many yearbooks as possible, at $15 each, then they will be distributed to as many of our children as possible.  Thanks for considering!

Pizza with Police

Here are a few pictures from Mrs. Welch’s grade 2 class and Mrs. Brown’s grade 4 class.  They were winners of the pizza luncheon with Officer Skardinski this week.  As a bonus, they also got to go outside and check out the police car!  Thank you, Office Skardinski and Pies Guys!

Enjoy the rest of your week!
Sincerely, Jeannette Clark
