Greetings from OR

March Greetings from Onondaga Road!

Green Day for MDA

We are excited to announce our upcoming participation in Green Day for MDA!  In support of the Muscular Dystrophy Association and our friends living with neuromuscular diseases, we are on a mission to increase community awareness and hopefully make a donation to help fund research for a cure.

Colton is a fourth grade friend here at Onondaga Road!  You can meet Colton’s Crew here!

March 17th is a perfect day to go green - Green Day for MDA!  Each class will have the opportunity to show their support and march around the bus loop for all the neighbors to see our green. Any spare change (or dollars!) students might like to bring to school and donate to the MDA can be dropped into the green bucket at the school door on their way out to Lap the Loop with their class.

Here is a BrainPop animation to help you learn more about our endeavor for MDA.  On behalf of Colton, his crew, and all of us here at Onondaga Road, we thank you!

Pizza with Police
Officer Skardkinski, Our School Resource Officer (SRO), visits our school every day and is an integral member of our school family!  Beginning next Tuesday all of our classes will be entered into a drawing to have lunch with Office Skardinski, and guess what... he’s bringing pizza!  Thanks to our SRO and our local pizzerias, every class is a winner!  Our students will be waiting anxiously for Monday afternoon announcements to find out which class is the winner for the following day’s Pizza with Police.  Of course students are welcome to bring their own lunch or order school lunch, too (and they’ll need a drink), but this is a fun way to add a little flare to lunches and friendships!

School Spirit Day
The first Friday of each month is School Spirit Day.  Let’s see how many students will be wearing BLUE & GOLD tomorrow (Friday, March 5).

#PositivityInAction
Next week we'll be learning about social intelligence as a positive character trait.  Someone who is aware of other people’s emotions and understands other people’s thinking is said to have social intelligence.  Understanding other people’s feelings helps us to form better relationships and friendships.

PTA Meeting
Be on the lookout for the link to next week’s PTA meeting.  We’ll be “Zooming” on Tuesday, March 9 at 6:00, so you can join us from the comfort of your own home.

Until next week... Jeannette Clark
