Greetings from Onondaga Road!

 Happy Mother’s Day

To all moms, we hope you find time to relax and that you get a lot of attention, and maybe a little spoiled, from your family!  Happy Mother’s Day to you!

Pizza with Police
On Tuesday Mrs. Caraccio’s Kindergarten class and Mrs. Eassa’s 2nd grade class enjoyed a pizza luncheon with Officer Skardinski, provided by Pies Guys! They also got to sit in the police car and turn on the lights!

National Chocolate Chip Day is May 15!

Register by May 10 so we can make your sample pack of chips.  Packs will be ready for pick up Friday, May 14 and Saturday, May 15.  Taste, then rank your favorites on our Google Form or on paper and return to us by Monday, May 17.  The Google Form is available on our website, but you can also find it hereWe'll compile the results and announce the winning chip!  This is open to everyone - adults, families, and kids. Have fun with it!

#PositivityInAction - The Positivity Project
Throughout the year we have learned a lot about our own positive character strengths and about other people’s strengths.  Ultimately it is our goal that we continually learn about our strengths and purpose, and conduct ourselves with an "other people matter" mindset, gaining compassion for others.  As we continue to learn and grow, these are the five elements intended to help people understand ways to build positive relationships:

  • identifying and appreciating the good in others,

  • knowing my words and actions affect others,

  • supporting others when they struggle,

  • cheering others’ successes,

  • and being present and giving others my attention.

Looking Ahead
Lucky for us, we did not have to use many snow days during the winter.  The Board of Education has approved “give back” snow days around Memorial Day weekend, so schools will be closed Friday, May 28 through Tuesday, June 1 (return Wednesday, June 2).  Be sure to mark your calendar!

Enjoy the weekend ahead, and again, Happy Mother’s Day!
Sincerely, Jeannette Clark
